  1. Param Vir Chakra (PVC): This is the highest military award in India and is awarded for the most conspicuous bravery or some daring or pre-eminent act of valor or self-sacrifice in the presence of the enemy.

  2. Maha Vir Chakra (MVC): This is the second-highest military award in India and is awarded for acts of conspicuous gallantry in the presence of the enemy.

  3. Vir Chakra (VrC): This is the third-highest military award in India and is awarded for acts of gallantry in the presence of the enemy.

  4. Ashoka Chakra: This is India's highest peacetime military decoration and is awarded for valor, courageous action or self-sacrifice away from the battlefield.

  5. Kirti Chakra: This is India's second-highest peacetime military decoration and is awarded for conspicuous gallantry, but not in the face of the enemy.

  6. Shaurya Chakra: This is India's third-highest peacetime military decoration and is awarded for acts of gallantry, but not in the face of the enemy.

  7. Sena, Nao Sena, and Vayu Sena Medals: These medals are awarded for acts of gallantry during non-war situations.

  8. Police Medals: There are three categories of police medals: the President's Police Medal for Gallantry, the Police Medal for Gallantry, and the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. These are awarded to members of the police forces for acts of bravery and distinguished service.

  9. Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM): This is awarded to recognize distinguished service of the most exceptional order to the Armed Forces.

  10. Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM): This is awarded to recognize distinguished service of an exceptional order to all ranks of the Armed Forces.

  11. Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM): This is awarded to recognize distinguished service of an exceptional order to all ranks of the Armed Forces.

  12. Uttam Yudh Seva Medal (UYSM): This is awarded for distinguished service of an exceptional order during war, conflict, or hostilities.

  13. Yudh Seva Medal (YSM): This is awarded to recognize distinguished service of an exceptional order during war, conflict, or hostilities.

These gallantry awards are a way for the Indian government to honor and recognize the bravery and courage of its citizens and armed forces personnel who have shown exceptional valor and courage in the face of danger.
